Lori S. Nehrer Attorney and Counselor at Law
After attending Ohio Northern University for her BA and Georgetown University Law Center to obtain her JD, Lori began practicing law in 1985. Throughout her career she has assisted in completing over 1,000 adoptions. She represents birth parents and adoptive parents in all types of adoption and guardianship proceedings including infant adoptions, stepparent adoptions, legal custodian adoptions, grandparent adoptions and interstate adoptions. Lori has worked with agencies, social workers, and families throughout Ohio and other states.
As a member of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys and the Ohio Roundtable of Adoption Attorneys, Lori is part of a network of Attorneys across the nation who are recognized in the field of adoption law and who are dedicated to the improvement of adoption law and its ethical practice. Honored to be a part of such dedicated organizations, she strives to uphold the values and standards of these organizations in every adoption in which she is involved. Through her contacts in the organizations, Lori is able to consult with and to refer adoptive parents or birth parents to qualified and experienced adoption attorneys in other states if proceedings are required to occur outside of Ohio.
Along with her Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys and the Ohio Roundtable of Adoption Attorneys memberships, Lori is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Akron Bar Association. She actively shares her knowledge of adoption law as a lecturer for the Akron Bar Association, the Legal Aid Society of Canton and the Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College.
In addition to adoption law, Lori handles estate planning and administration. She can assist with trusts, wills and any other needs involved with estate planning and administration including probate administration.
